About
Us
Establishing
ones own business is something most of us aspire to do
in our lifetime. Success, however, mandates adequate self-sufficiency
and empowerment to build and sustain a high quality of
life.
Many
Arizonans are unable to share in these benefits, particularly
minorities and low-income families who often lack access
to affordable credit.
PMHDC
is committed to serving low-income people in rural Arizona
through greater access to local capacity-building resources
and affordable financial products.
OUR
HISTORY
PPEP
Microbusiness and Housing Development Corporation, Inc. (PMHDC)
was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in Arizona in
1977 and as an affiliate of Portable Practical Education Preparation,
Inc. (PPEP). PMHDC has a 23-year track record of providing
services to the people of rural Arizona, especially low-income,
Hispanics, Native Americans and farm workers. PMHDC is the
largest provider of alternative housing and business financing
in rural Arizona. PMHDC was certified as a Community Development
Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U. S. Department of Treasury
in 1996 and recertified in July, 2000.
